Engagements at KU

I'm so excited to share with you Sarah and Matt's engagements session!! It's hard to believe that I am this old, because Cedar Creek Photography took Sarah and Matt's high school senior portraits like 5 years ago: I shot Sarah's, and dad did Matt's! These two cuties were high school sweet hearts and it's so great to have the opportunity to photograph their engagements and of course their wedding this August!

Sarah and Matt both graduated from KU, so of course, we needed to take their engagement portraits where they spent most of the adult life together playing. And yes, they have swam in the fountain, so we had to get them back in.

Bieker's Family Portraits

Cedar Creek Photography first met Cory and Teresa almost exactly 2 years ago!! They were getting married and looking for a wedding photographer. Teresa's vibrant personality was a perfect match with ours and they immediately signed with us. So, we took their engagements that hot summer followed by a BEAUTIFUL wedding that fall. Their little ones have so much personality it's no wonder who their parents are!!

Engagement Photos

My dad had the great pleasure of meeting back up with Susan and her fiance Jesse the other weekend! This adorable couple live all the way in DC and we had been hoping to meet up to take their engagements before their wedding in July and we luckily did!! So, after not seeing them for MONTHS it was so great to see their beautiful faces again. Cedar Creek Photography met Susan through her mom, Linda Baca at a KC Weddings Bridal show. Linda owns her own floral boutique: A Floral Affair.

Anyway, dad met Susan and Jesse at Loose Park for some sweet garden shots. Hope you all like them!!

Trash the Dress

Cedar Creek Photography got to trash a dress! Well, not really!! We try hard not to actually ruin anyone's gown, unless you insist!

Nana and Alfred had the unfortunate wedding day in March with all the sleet and slush. There wasn't much snow to speak of, just ice and slush! Bleck! So, they jumped at the idea to take them out for a second session downtown a few weeks later when the weather warmed up. This is their version of a Trash the Dress. Hope you enjoy!!

Whitney and Kyle's Wedding

Hello! Cedar Creek Photography finally has the opportunity to share some beautiful images from Whitney and Kyle's wedding! I know I say this about all our wedding couples, but these two are some of the sweetest people you will meet and are just as beautiful inside as they are out! I guess my dad and I are just lucky that we always seem to have such unbelievable clients!! Anyway, these two had the amazing luck of the last nice Saturday in March before all the rain, sleet and snow arrived. Since the weather was so nice we were able to take the couple and their wedding party down to Kauffman Gardens and the Plaza for some romantic portraits before the ceremony. For the ceremony, the couple chose the chapel at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection followed by an beautiful reception at the Lodge at Ironwoods in Leawood.

Destination Wedding - Florida

This winter, Cedar Creek Photography was given the opportunity for me to photograph a beautiful destination wedding at St. Pete Beach, Florida this February. When the weather is 21 degrees in Kansas, who wouldn't DREAM of have their wedding on the beach in Florida over looking the ocean?!? Megan and Michael had exactly that, a dream wedding! This couple have become some of my closest friends over the past year and I was honored that I was not only able to photograph their big day, but was able to be there to celebrate as well.

KC Weddings Bridal Extraordinaire

It's a New Year and it's time to reinvent! Cedar Creek Photography has began 2009 with a new wedding style! Our website has been updated, our albums and wedding booth. Shanna and Steven are married!!!

Since I just posted a more urban wedding from downtown KC, I thought that I'd post a wedding from a more soft and gentle venue, Longview Mansion. Cedar Creek Photography had the privilege to photograph the wedding of Shanna and Steven there at the end of October. Everything was beautiful!! It had rained several days in a row before their big day, but the heavens opened up and blessed their wedding with warm weather and sun.

Shanna and Steven are such a cute couple. Shanna is a beautiful outgoing woman who caught the eye of Steven, a handsome quite man. The two compliment each other so well! I've notice Shanna can bring out the best smile in Steven, which is wonderful. If you look back in our blog history, you'll be able to see some of their engagements portraits. And now, you'll get to view some of my favorite wedding day images!

Russell and Jillian's Wedding

Since we are starting to catch up with all our 2008 weddings, I thought we'd start posting some of them! Cedar Creek Photography was given the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Jillian and Russell. Jillian is a high end clothing designer who caught Russell's eye. Being a designer, she was able to help customize her own wedding gown so it was unique just for her. I hope we did the gown justice with emphasizing the detail.

The couple saw each other for the first time at the Westin Crown Center, where they got dressed. From there, we took them for some dramatic portraits at the Nelson, downtown KC, and ended up in the West Bottoms. They had their wedding at the Hobbs Building downtown. This venue is quite unique with an outdoor courtyard for the ceremony and the rustic floors and walls inside for the reception.

Jillian and Russell came away with some phenomenal wedding day images!!! Thank you both for being so open to our vision and being just so WONDERFUL to photograph!
