Happy Holiday's!!! It's been a long while since Cedar Creek Photography has posted. The holiday blast has finally slowed down and we are finally able to get caught up on our fun stuff... like blogging!!!

To begin, I want to resolve everyone's anticipation to see Alex's second sitting of her high school senior photo shoot! As you all remember, her first senior shoot was in KC's West Bottoms. We did the urban look with the bright colors, graffiti walls, and old buildings. This second shoot was a little more relaxed. We stayed here in Cedar Creek and went down to the boat dock to show off her school pride and swim team. We then walked a short way to cute little bridge near by and finished the shoot in a field of tall grass. I want to thank Alex for being such a trooper during this; it was a whole 27 degrees warm and winding that afternoon. But she was still laughing and having a good time!

Wedding Downtown KC

Cedar Creek Photography would like to introduce to Kansas City, Mike and Haley!! They were married WAY back in September at Club 1000, downtown Kansas City. This couple and their wedding party was so awesome to work with!! We had so much fun taking pictures around town. They got ready at the Aladdin Hotel, downtown, and saw each other for the first time at the little pavilion park outside Bartle Hall. From there we went to the Power and Light District, Loose Park, and the Ward Pkwy Fountain. We finally finished up on the streets outside Club 1000. Their ceremony was beautiful, overlooking downtown Kansas City, and their reception was so warm and playful!

Cedar Creek photographed their engagements back in the spring and if you go through our past blogs you'll be able to see this couple's really playful engagement portraits.

Senior Model!

Well, I finally have the results!! WAY back in September Cedar Creek Photography did a model search for high school senior photography. I wanted to do something so unique and original, so I offered a free sitting and some wallets to compensate for the experiment. The result is amazing! Alexa, a cheerleader and athlete at Olathe East High School was the senior that we used. We took her down to Olathe's Old Settler's carnival this fall and took some Lifestyle senior portraits of her on the fair ground!! She is one of the sweetest seniors this year, and she was such a sport for keeping such an open mind about these! She and her mom were in the other night to see them for the first time, and I hope they LOVED them as much as we do!

Family Portraits by Cedar Creek Photography

Welcome to November, everyone!! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner!!! Cedar Creek Photography, myself, and my dad have been super busy this fall taking some really awesome portraits. We are coming up to our last fall wedding this weekend, which will give us a break from the past 9 straight weekends! Whew! But we have taken some REALLY amazing pictures at each of these weddings, and when we get caught up, I am so going to post them for you all to see!

But with fall being here and the colors being as great as they are, I want to share with you some of the family portraits we've been so busy working on. This first I want to show off is the Zimmerman Family which we photographed here in Cedar Creek. This family came to us through an auction for Cystic Fibrosis which we donated some portraits to. Not only did they come away with some gorgeous family portraits, they also helped raise money for a good cause! The Zimmerman's are a really loving family, if you can't tell! Their little ones were so much fun to photograph. We bribed them with Starburst candy to keep their attention going, and that made their experience perfect!
