Danay and Cory's Engagements

Here are some engagements my dad took of Danay and Cory! They get married this September and we will of course post some of their wedding when it gets here. My dad kept these Cory and Danay here in Cedar Creek and went around to some neat places. He did an AWESOME job with the light and playing with lens flare! I absolutely love them!! Cory and Danay are just a lot of fun to be around and are just so sweet. If we can just keep Cory's eyes open, their wedding images are going to be amazing!

I hope everyone else enjoys their engagements as much as I do!

Engagement Photos

Alright! Just as I had promised I am going to start posting some of our most recent engagement sessions! The first I want to talk about is Haley and Mike. They are getting married this fall, so keep your eye out for their wedding images then. But we had a lot of fun taking their engagements! We started out taking some nice outdoor shots here in Cedar Creek at the end of April. Since our Spring took so long to arrive, they have some really gorgeous colors around them! After some outdoor shots on the grounds here, we went downtown to some graffiti and allies! Those came out so cool! Haley and Mike are so playful and have such great chemistry, the urban shots were just perfect for them!

I hope you all enjoy viewing a few of their engagements! And if anyone wants some playful ones like theirs or have their own ideas, let us know! We are always up for uniqueness!!!!

Cedar Creek Photo Joins the Blogging World!!

Hello Everyone!!

This is our first post in the blogging world. We have finally decided it was time to join in on all the fun! For those who do not yet know us at Cedar Creek Photography, let me introduce us:

I am Leslie Selfridge, co-owner of Cedar Creek Photography. I am 24, a graduate with a degree in photography from Central Missouri State University. Which, actually is now called the University of Central Missouri. I have been a photo girl now for almost a decade! Hard to believe! I started at 15 in a dark room in high school. (A small side note about me, I LOVE the smell of dektal.) Anyway, after winning a few awards and being published all before the age of 18, I started to think that maybe I was good at this! So, that's what I pursued!! Now, I work along side my dad, Brad, and we photograph all our weddings together!

Brad Selfridge, President of Cedar Creek Photography, is my father. He has been doing photography for almost as long as I've been alive! We lived in Derby, outside Wichita, for the first 15 years of my life and he enjoyed photographing our friends and family back there. My first camera was his old one, a Canon AE-1. My dad said, back in the late '70's when he bought it, it was $400, equivalent to $1500 today! So, I had a good camera to start on. Anyway, back to my dad... so he always enjoyed photography. He is an excellent dark-roomer as well! Though that was back when film was the BEST way to go. Now it's digital and neither of us has used our dark-room in a couple years. He loves using infrared film and still plays with our digital prints to make them appear infrared as well.

Cedar Creek Photography is a father-daughter creation. It's great because it has two unique perspectives: a guys and a girls! That and also a younger generation and an older one. The perspectives intermix and create us, basically. We are lifestyle photographers who truly believe in the elegance and love that each person possesses. So, we alter the environment with lighting and composition to make sure each person is represented as they are: beautiful, unique and true to themselves. We believe in real love, real smiles, real emotion, real moments and real people!

I hope you all have had a chance to view our portfolios at www.cedarcreekphoto.com . We have a wedding link and a portraits link, but both sides show you our lifestyle portraiture! Keep checking in for additional posts!!
