Cedar Creek Photo Joins the Blogging World!!

Hello Everyone!!

This is our first post in the blogging world. We have finally decided it was time to join in on all the fun! For those who do not yet know us at Cedar Creek Photography, let me introduce us:

I am Leslie Selfridge, co-owner of Cedar Creek Photography. I am 24, a graduate with a degree in photography from Central Missouri State University. Which, actually is now called the University of Central Missouri. I have been a photo girl now for almost a decade! Hard to believe! I started at 15 in a dark room in high school. (A small side note about me, I LOVE the smell of dektal.) Anyway, after winning a few awards and being published all before the age of 18, I started to think that maybe I was good at this! So, that's what I pursued!! Now, I work along side my dad, Brad, and we photograph all our weddings together!

Brad Selfridge, President of Cedar Creek Photography, is my father. He has been doing photography for almost as long as I've been alive! We lived in Derby, outside Wichita, for the first 15 years of my life and he enjoyed photographing our friends and family back there. My first camera was his old one, a Canon AE-1. My dad said, back in the late '70's when he bought it, it was $400, equivalent to $1500 today! So, I had a good camera to start on. Anyway, back to my dad... so he always enjoyed photography. He is an excellent dark-roomer as well! Though that was back when film was the BEST way to go. Now it's digital and neither of us has used our dark-room in a couple years. He loves using infrared film and still plays with our digital prints to make them appear infrared as well.

Cedar Creek Photography is a father-daughter creation. It's great because it has two unique perspectives: a guys and a girls! That and also a younger generation and an older one. The perspectives intermix and create us, basically. We are lifestyle photographers who truly believe in the elegance and love that each person possesses. So, we alter the environment with lighting and composition to make sure each person is represented as they are: beautiful, unique and true to themselves. We believe in real love, real smiles, real emotion, real moments and real people!

I hope you all have had a chance to view our portfolios at www.cedarcreekphoto.com . We have a wedding link and a portraits link, but both sides show you our lifestyle portraiture! Keep checking in for additional posts!!

The blog was a wonderful idea!! It's really nice to be able to see snap shots of other people's sittings. All of your pictures look so beautiful, but it's nice to have updated ones! After all I've looked through all the books like 3 times now! =)

Thanks Danay! It is fun having a blog now! I was afraid I wasn't going to have time for it, but I'm enjoying writing some blurbs about my day or a photo shoot and I'm glad to see my brides are enjoying it as well. Plus it is nice to have fresh stuff up for those who look through our books like 3 times!!! ;)
